Treat the logs with a colourless and odourless wood preservative.
You can protect the logs from worms, insects and decaying without affecting the natural look.
You should be able to get a tin from the stores.

Question by Sapphire: What is this style of decorating?
I want to redecorate my home (nothing major like painting or buying any new furniture) but small stuff like adding some vases, wall plates etc.
I have wooden floors and wooden furniture. Most of it is pretty dark but not dark as in the victorian times.
I like to have a country theme (NOT RUSTIC) and I hate clutter. I want to have a bungalow kind of theme with dainty teapots and teacups (again not all over the place). I like wall plates ( antique or I have seen these really nice blue and white printed plates. I like to have lacy table clothes.
I have all these ideas I dont know how to put all these together. I’ve tried searching online but I dont know what my style of decorating is. So its kind of hard to narrow my search. Any advice would be great.

honestly, i love blue and white with wooden furniture, that may be the best way to go with the plates! and it really depends on the colors of you walls, but wooden furniture is easy to decorate.
